Manager of Cancer Tumor Registry Ambulatory Services

 A position for a Manager of Cancer Tumor Registry Ambulatory Services is available at a top hospital in the Northern Virginia.

This 360-bed, nationally recognized hospital seeks an experienced HIM Professional to oversee the collection of data for the Hospital's Cancer Tumor Registry. This position will identify, register, and maintain records of all cancer patients by using a tumor registry data system. They will also be charged with the analysis of data and release information in adherence to established ethical standards.

The Manager will be responsible for management of the hospital American College of Surgeons. This includes a data base of 17,000 cases with over 14,000 follow-up cases and approximately 1600 new cases added each year. The Registrar serves as a focal point for most aspects of the cancer program including coordination of meetings, studies, and published materials. The Manager will function independently; consulting the Director of Oncology Support Services on unusual administrative situations, and the chairman of the Cancer Committee regarding clinical concerns.

The hospital is looking to grow its Oncology Service Line and it already treats a wide range of Cancers with multiple state-of the-art treatment modalities. The ideal candidate will have prior Tumor Registrar or HIM experience including relevant certifications. Candidates with a background in a hospital, state, or free standing cancer registry or equivalent oncology related data collection activity will be considered.
